Southern Highland Craft Guild members' show highlighting 40 artists who will interpret what new traditions means to them and then transfer that interpretation to their quilt.
The annual members’ show has taken on a new twist. The exhibitions are now centered around the theme New Traditions while focusing on a particular strength from our membership, like quiltmaking. This restructuring will give more continuity to the much-anticipated annual members’ exhibition. This year’s exhibition will highlight 30 quilt artists from our membership. Traditional and contemporary quilting will be represented. It will be up to the participating artist to interpret what New Traditions means to them and then transfer that interpretation to their quilt.

Pattiy Torno has been a quilter for 23 years. Three years ago, she began creating animated films to document her quilting process. These films are compilations of close to 1000 digital stills. A photo is taken as each new piece of fabric is added to the composition.

Below is a link to a Real Player movie of the quilt that will be on view in the Main Gallery.
