Marcia McDade has been a member of the Southern Highlands Craft Guild for 30 years and has resided in the Blue Ridge Mountains since 1954. She received a BA from Salem College and a Masters Degree from Radford University (Phi Kappa Phi). Early in her career as an artists she participated in the Mountain Lake Workshops through Va Tech Foundation and studied at the Art Students League in NYC and in Cortona Italy with the University of GA.
Marcia McDade's current works are silkscreen monoprints embellished with oil pastel She works on both paper and fabric. These prints and drawings reflect her spiritual response to nature drawn from personal experiences, memories and dreaming. Marcia's studios are located in Stuart, VA and Bath, NC. Her works have been included in many corporate collections including the Bank of America and Wells Fargo; UVA, UNC and Duke Hospitals, the Duke Foundation and the US State Department.
