Rob & Beth Moring Mangum
Media: ClayRob Mangum began making pottery in his parents’ studio in 1975. In 1989, he joined forces with his wife Beth to form their pottery studio after graduating from the Design School at NC State University. Rob went on to receive an M.F. A. in Ceramics from Indiana University. While they continue the Mangum family tradition of making functional stoneware, they also further an investigation of form and design through the making of vases, as well as furniture and musical instruments.
While maintaining a strong connection to the folk tradition of craft, Rob and Beth strive to bridge the gap between heritage and contemporary design.
