About this Gallery: Heather received a BFA in Painting and Sculpture from the University of New Hampshire and an MFA in Artisanry from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. Heather's work has appeared in numerous national and international art and craft publications including American Craft, Fiberarts, Surface Design Journal, and Sen Shoku Alpha. Her unique combination of material, techniques and imagery have won numerous awards including the NICHE Award in 1996. In 1995 she was the recipient of a NEA Regional Fellowship and a Tennesee Art's Commission Fellowship. She has lectured and taught in the US, Canada, Japan, Singapore, Thailand and Nepal. Heather's work is exhibited internationally and in 2004 her hand painted rag rug, "Winter Sunset," was added to the permanent collection of the Racine Art Museum, Racine, WI.
