Using traditional Appalachian and Shaker methods, second-generation broom maker Marlow Gates will demonstrate the age old craft of broom making. He will show how to hand tie and hand sew each type of broom including, Cobweb Brooms, Hearth Brooms, Sweepers, Whisks, Pot Scrubbers, and Cake Testers. Marlow will be in the lobby of the Folk Art Center on the Blue Ridge Parkway.
