Southern Highland Craft Guild Announces 2026 Jury Deadlines

Asheville, NC – The Southern Highland Craft Guild invites regional artists to apply for membership through its 2026 jury process. Representing over 750 makers across nine states, the Guild has upheld the legacy of Appalachian craft since 1930—connecting artists, collectors, and the public through exhibitions, retail shops, and the renowned Craft Fairs of the Southern Highlands.

The membership jury process is divided into two parts.
Part One: Image Jury requires artists to submit high-quality images and descriptions of their work online or by mail. Deadlines are March 16, May 18, and November 6, 2026.
Part Two: Object Jury invites successful applicants to either submit five objects to the Folk Art Center or present a provisional booth at the Craft Fair. Object Jury dates are January 19–20 and August 17–18, 2026.

Artists new to their medium are encouraged to apply through the Emerging Artist Program, which offers mentorship and a chance to exhibit at a Guild Craft Fair prior to full membership. The Guild also hosts Member Application Workshops throughout the year to help applicants prepare portfolios and understand the jury process.

Membership benefits include opportunities to sell work through the Guild’s shops and fairs, exhibit at the Folk Art Center, and join a community dedicated to preserving and advancing fine craft in the Southern Highlands.
