Focus Gallery Exhibition
January 3 – March 22, 2026
Asheville, NC — The Southern Highland Craft Guild presents Curves Ahead, a Focus Gallery exhibition on view January 3 through March 22, 2026, celebrating the expressive power of form through work that bends, shapes, and redefines material boundaries.
Featuring work by Gena Hopkins (bead jewelry), Theresa Clower (mixed media), Jessica White (printmaking), Vicki Love (leather), and Bob Bragg (furniture), the exhibition brings together five distinct voices united by an exploration of curvature, movement, and rhythm in craft.
Across media ranging from jewelry and leather to furniture, printmaking, and mixed media, Curves Ahead highlights how artists use line and form to guide the eye, invite touch, and challenge expectations of structure and utility. Whether subtle or bold, each work emphasizes the importance of contour—revealing how curves can soften, strengthen, and animate both functional and conceptual objects.
Presented in the Guild’s Focus Gallery, Curves Ahead offers an intimate viewing experience that encourages close observation and reflection on the role of design, material, and craftsmanship in contemporary Appalachian and regional craft.
The exhibition is open to the public and included with free admission.
