Ashley is a fiber artist and designer with a passion to up-cycle materials in a fast fashion/digital world. She sources her fabric and hardware from small businesses located nation wide. The cork fabric comes to her in a 1lb bag of mystery pieces where she then lays-out into desired color pallets and then pieces together with her industrial (Consew 206-rb5) sewing machine. She finishes the bottoms and straps in vinyl and lines each bag/wallet with canvas. The vinyl and canvas remnants are sourced from an awning company located in Arden, NC. She strives to keep alive the craft of handmade objects by essentially quilting her bags and wallets in the hope to give back to her community the reminder to pause and think of where textiles come from, and the time goes.

Ashley is a Savannah College of Art and design graduate with a BFA in fiber and textile design, 2009. From there she went on to be an assistant for an Asheville-based clothing designer and artist for 6 years. Next, she spent 3 years learning how to make awnings for another WNC-based company. Cole Klutch came to life in 2018 the year her son, Cole was born. Now, she is making Cole Klutch full-time out of her home. All bags and wallets are made out of up-cycled textiles.
