Carved and Painted “Prothonotary Warbler”

Realistic hand carved and painted Prothonotary Warbler. Masterfully painted and posed. John Dickens carves each piece with an ordinary pocketknife. John has been carving wood for 48 years.  John wrote, “each time I do an animal, I want to do it in a different pose so I can learn more about its anatomy and how it moves and behaves.” His primary subjects are the local songbirds found at his backyard bird feeder, animals, fish, people and reliefs.
