Each piece is thrown porcelain on the wheel and then carved. After each piece dries the black lines are carved into the porcelain with a sharp knife, then inlaid with black under-glaze. Each color is hand painted before being glazed with food safe glazes.

XL Serving Platter/ Shallow Bowl with a mid-fired white stoneware body which is both functional and sculptural in form. The piece has been glazed with an ash glaze that leaves a nice flowing design in the finished work. Michael uses only lead-free glazes that are food safe as well as microwave and dishwasher safe, but do avoid extremes, such as going from a refrigerator into a hot oven. Not made for stove top use.
