Oxidized Silver Granulated Bands

Oxidized sterling silver granulated rings. Artist Susan McDonough uses the technique called granulation. Granulation is a controlled fusing process that has been utilized for thousands of years. Her rings have an intricate wave or triangle pattern of granules peppering the surface. A dark grey patina is applied and is protected with renaissance wax. This unique surface will get more interesting with wear.
