This handcrafted stoneware mug features delicately etched birds perched on a wire, created by North Carolina potter Rebecca Regal. Her ceramics combine hand-building, wheel-throwing, and sculptural techniques, drawing inspiration from Appalachian nature, folklore, and rustic charm. Most of the glazes she uses are original glaze recipes curated by her potter father for over 50 years. Each piece is produced in small batches and is one of a kind.

Description
Rebecca’s ceramic work is a thoughtful fusion of handbuilding, wheel throwing, and sculpture, deeply inspired by the natural beauty, folklore, and rustic charm of the Appalachias. Whether it’s a small vessel or larger sculptural form, her work invites viewers to engage with it playfully-sharing wonder and curiosity. Always seeking a balance of artistry and utility reflects in her commitment to merging beauty and practicality in her work, making art accessible -and meaningful in daily life. In 2019 Rebecca built Chickadees Pottery, in Arden, NC, where she and both of her parents practice their art. Most of the glazes she uses are original glaze recipes curated by her potter father for over 50 years. The studio is open to visitors, who often become collectors or friends. She teaches weekly classes and guides young, aspiring clay artists all the while creating small batch and one of a kind ceramic art.
