Carved Ceramic Open Baking Dish

Large wheel-thrown and altered stoneware baking dish that combines functional design with intricate botanical artistry by North Carolina potter Robin Kirby Bryant. The original designs are hand-carved and painted on each piece. No two are alike, though they will share the feeling of belonging together. As with all pottery, bake-ware should be placed in a cold oven and then brought to temperature to avoid thermal shock.

Description
Artist Robin Kirby creates her functional stoneware pieces using the wheel and slabs. She hand carves textured patterns into each piece, and finishing her work with a soft neutral glaze with pops of color to accent the overall design. Her work is fired in an electric kiln.
