“Windmills all Around” Jewelry Box

This chest was inspired by the quilt block called Windmills All Around. The 123 pieces of the door quilt pattern are made from birdseye maple, padauk, lacewood and wenge. The tapered sides of the sepele case suggest the shape of old European windmills. Inside the chest are storage areas for necklaces, bracelets, a ring holder and two partitioned drawers with quartersawn sycamore fronts and walnut handles.
