‘Magnolia Awakenings I’ Etching

Colorful magnolia 4-plate soft ground etching and engraving printed on Arches rag paper. Artist Jay Pfeil created this on one of her many hikes through these mountains. She is in the process of printing an edition of 95 signed, numbered and hand-pulled intaglio prints.

Description
“I made the plates in 2005-2006 from Fraser (Mountain) Magnolias growing in Montreat, NC. This etching is part of a group of etchings that when hung together create one image of a Magnolia Branch in Spring with numerous leaf and flower buds. I am in the process of printing an edition of 95 signed, numbered, and hand-pulled prints and no more than 15 proofs.”
